It was a profound honor that we, Access to Education – Myanmar, in partnership with KOKKO Institute and KIMO Institute, successfully implemented a debate tournament using the Karl Popper Debate format from December 20th to 22nd, 2025.
A total of 30 Debaters, representing 10 Debate teams from various regions, participated in the tournament—engaging in debates on diverse thematic motions, including education, artificial intelligence and technology, politics, and cultural issues.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to debaters — both as individuals and as a team — who took part in the tournament with such great passion, courage, and dedication to building a debate culture in the country.
We would also like to thank and appreciate the individuals who expressed interest in our tournament but were not selected to participate due to our limited capacity to host every team.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all the debate judges and volunteers, whose insights, experiences, and contributions have been instrumental in the success of this debate tournament.
It is a unique privilege for us to have collaborated with and worked as partners with such dynamic and supportive organizations—KOKKO Institute and KIMO Institute—in Myanmar, as our aspirations and visions deeply resonated with theirs.
We are dedicated to enhancing debate education in Myanmar as we firmly believe that it serves as the foundation of an open society characterized by critical thinking and reasoning.
